We are very lucky in this area of the country, we are not held up in crowded streets, or restricted to a few estates vying for space where other people are also learning to drive.

During lessons I take my students on a wide variety of roads to give them the experience and confidence needed to drive safely on their own.

Because I am an independent instructor and own my own car I’m not locked into a franchise or on a mileage restriction, I can afford to take you to the area that best helps develop your skills as quickly as possible.

As your skill and knowledge develops during your lessons you will drive on the following type of roads

§
Rural roads
§
Town roads
§
Fast roads
§
Dual Carriageways- a drive of about 35 miles on the A1
§
Unusual roads - roads that are not straightforward and logical
§
Roads in areas that you are not familiar with

You can choose where you take your test, there are three main centres in the area which are, Lincoln, Grantham and Boston.
These three places offer different driving experiences from slow town traffic and rural roads to fast dual carriageways.

My aim is to give you the ability to apply good ‘car control’ and have a high understanding of ‘road craft’ making it easy to apply  the control when needed by using the road craft.

Everyone wants to know “how long will it take to learn?” as your aim is to pass your test. To be honest it is impossible to say, everyone is different, according to statistics the average is about 45 hours, however some take much less others take longer, this really is an individual thing. All I can do is guarantee to teach you as quickly as you can sensibly learn, the more you show me you are capable of, the more we complete in each lesson.

I will do my best to help you achieve the standard needed as quickly as possible. I will advise you to take your test when you can drive independently, this means you can drive on any road I ask you to drive on, without me having to prompt or warn you about features on the road. All I should need to do is navigate for you. You need to be able to do this on roads you don’t know, as well as on those you are familiar with. This is the standard the examiner will expect during your test.

It is not a good idea just learning the test areas, as once you are out on your own and driving in unfamiliar places you could get confused, flustered and possibly crash.
